About Me

My name is Stevie Jones and I’m a mental health therapist.

I’ve always considered myself a natural helper, driven by genuine curiosity about others and their life experience. I believe we’re all connected and that we’re“in this together!” Working as a therapist allows me to live out that value each day. As an Asheville native, I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals within my own community.

I earned my M.A. in Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (A20935), practicing under the supervision of Audrey Morris, LCMHCS (144469).

I have worked as a therapist in drug rehabilitation, college counseling, and inpatient residential settings, supporting clients with a wide range of needs and backgrounds. I believe that when a person feels truly understood and supported, they are capble of growth, healing and transforming insight into meaningful change. I blend my therapeutic approach and clinical tools with your own self-knowledge and innate capacity for self-leadership to create a collaborative process that fosters strength-based insight and practical strategies. I want to provide guidance throughout the process, while ensuring that treatment planning remains collaborative, manageable, and supportive of your life.

When I’m not providing therapy, I enjoy preforming in live theatre! This connects back to my former roots as a drama major. Although I didn’t pursue acting as a career, my studies deepened my appreciation for the complexity of characters and the real-life experiences that inspire them. In many ways, that passion carries into my work as a therapist. I’m drawn to helping clients explore their underlying motivations, goals, and dreams to better understand the stories that have shaped who they are.

All too often, new clients share that negative experiences with previous therapists have shaped their perception of the profession. I notice this especially among individuals whose identities and backgrounds differ from my own. If you choose to work with me, I am committed to providing socially conscious and culturally humble care that honors your lived experience and offers a restorative alternative to any past treatment that felt harmful or insufficient.

Therapeutic Modalities

  • Emotional and Relational Focused Therapy utilizes evidence-based interventions to help people identify and transform negative relationship patterns, communicate emotions more effectively, and build stronger, more secure connections. Click Here for more information.

  • Parts Therapy is based on the idea that each person has different inner subpersonalities that hold distinct feelings, needs, and ways of responding. When these parts come into conflict with one another, it can lead to internal tension and emotional distress. The goal of parts work is to help people understand, integrate, and bring harmony to these inner experiences.

  • The Skill-Based Therapies emphasize changing your relationship to your thoughts rather than trying to change or “get rid” of thoughts. It focuses on mindfulness, acceptance, distress tolerance, and psychological flexibility to help you notice difficult thoughts and feelings without becoming overwhelmed or controlled by them. • Narrative and Existential Focused Therapy is based on the idea that people make sense of their lives through the stories they tell about themselves and the meaning they derive. When our life stories become dominated by problems or negative beliefs, they can limit how a person sees their identity and possibilities. Click Here to learn more.

My approach is person-centered, meaning I do not rigidly adhere to any one modality.
Instead, I tailor the work to each client’s unique needs, goals, and preferences.
I prioritize creating a supportive space for emotional processing, skill-building, and self-exploration by building a strong therapeutic alliance and honoring each client as the expert of their own experience.
I also draw from a range of evidence-based modalities to support the therapeutic process.
